HopeBuilders International are building the Village of Hope in Uganda. It includes 20 homes, which are designed to hold up to 8 orphans and a house mother, who in most cases are widows that take on the care of these children. These homes provide the opportunity for these children to grow up in a family environment. The village also has an administration centre which provides offices for the running of the village, as well as vocational and other life-skill type training programs for the mothers and children as well. There is also provision for gardens for vegetables and other staple crops, as well as piggeries and micro-enterprise ventures.The Village of Hope is being built with a combination of local and international labour! Locals are employed on the site, which provides income for Ugandans.
